Nothing Less Than Something Trailer
My short film, Nothing Less Than Something, delves into the anxiety and mental health challenges faced by post-graduates, drawing from my own fear of failure after college. As a first-generation college student, I felt the immense pressure to succeed not only for myself, but for my family's financial stability. However, financial insecurity is a common reality for many post-graduate students, especially those from low-income backgrounds. The pandemic has further exacerbated these challenges, with millions of people losing their jobs and universities shutting down.
As someone who has spent over 16 years in school, I aim to provide an accurate portrayal of the difficulties that come with transitioning from a student to an employee. More than half a million US students have dropped out of college, leaving their economic futures uncertain. The employment gap has widened even further for people without a degree compared to those with one. Despite these struggles, everyone is in the same boat, trying to navigate this uncertain world and survive. Nothing Less Than Something sheds light on these issues and aims to provide a platform for much-needed conversations surrounding mental health and post-graduation challenges.
